Michael Marbach, CEO
Michael Marbach is a life long educator and coach. Prior to founding the Christian Outdoor Alliance, he served as Dean of Students and varsity baseball coach at St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio. His experiences range from teaching, an award winning journalist, to being and accomplished outdoorsman. He currently writes a column under the pen name “Old Tex” in every issue of Texas Trophy Hunter Magazine. Michael’s hunting experience began as a small boy who grew up hunting and fishing with his father and grandfather in the Texas Hill Country and South Texas. He has transitioned to an accomplished guide sharing his knowledge of the outdoors to youth and adults alike, through many COA sponsored hunts and outings. However his most important accomplishment, aside from his family, is the founding of Christian Outdoor Alliance in 2002. His life long goal is to establish an organization that introduces young people to the outdoors and to share his strong faith of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Mike has a B.A. in Journalism from Tarlton State University and an M.A. in Communications from West Texas A & M Universtiy. Michael and his wife Amy married in 1995 and they have two sons Michael Dean and Wesley.
Steve Turk, Chairman
Steve was born in Oil City, PA. He grew up hunting and fishing with his family and friends in the hills of northwestern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Marietta College in Marietta, OH where he earned a BSPE degree in Petroleum Engineering in 1984. Upon graduation from Marietta, he joined Mitchell Energy Corporation in The Woodlands, TX.
His 35+ year career has taken him through many different positions and levels of responsibilities with both oil and gas companies as well as major oilfield services companies. He has worked for Mitchell Energy, Halliburton Energy Services, Bargo Energy, Mission Resources, Weatherford International, and TREX Engineering and Construction. In the fall of 2015, he left TREX to start his own oil and gas ventures as Turkoil, LLC and Turkoil Energy Services, LLC.
Steve and his wife Terri reside in Conroe, TX. They attend The Woodlands United Methodist Church in The Woodlands, TX.
Craig is currently retired from a career in high tech sales and marketing. His most recent roles were Chairman & CEO of Cornerstone Integrated Services Inc. and Chairman and CEO of 360 Commerce Inc.. Prior to that, Mr. Niederstadt spent 20 years as an Executive with Texas Instruments. He has had extensive involvement with numerous Non-Profits, as well as serving on several BOD’s of U.S. Companies. He also currently serves on the Advisory BOD’s of several non-profits and Missouri State University’s School of Business. He received a BS in Marketing from Missouri State University and an MBA from University of Texas. Mr. Niederstadt is an Eagle Scout. He and Sandy, his wife of 36 years, have two daughters and attend Queen of Angels Church.
Greg Thompson, Treasurer
Greg has been heavily involved in COA over the past 11 years, sharing his love for the outdoors. He was drafted out of high school by the LA Dodgers and played pro ball for four years until his career was limited by injuries. He is a Certified Financial Planner™ Professional currently with Titleist Asset Management, Ltd., where he serves as Senior Partner. He serves as President of the Board of Bexar Country Detention Ministries Endowment and is on the Advisory Board for the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He is a mentor of young men through the organization, Heritage Children. He is also involved in many other organizations, including, Bible Study Fellowship, Elf Louise, The Mays YMCA and McAllister Park Little League. Greg holds a BBA in Finance and received his Certified Financial Manager designation from the Donald T Reagan School of Advanced Financial Management at Princeton. Mr. Thompson lives in San Antonio with his wife, Ginger, and they have two sons. They belong to Cross Bridge Community Church
Brad Blessing, CPA
Brad is an Austin-based CPA with a thirty year career in public accounting in Austin and Dallas. A 1984 graduate of Texas State University – San Marcos (BBA in Accounting), Brad is a passionate outdoor enthusiast with extensive involvement in a variety of community charities, including Marywood Children and Family Services, The Handicapped Equestrian Learning Program, Shoreline Christian School and Singing Hills Ministries. Brad and his wife, Tricia, enjoy supporting activities and charities that focus on special needs children, education, and faith-building among young people. They have two daughters and one son.
Colin is currently entering his 6th season in the National Football League. He was originally drafted in 2011 by the San Francisco 49ers and is presently with the Carolina Panthers, where he has spent the last 4 seasons as a defensive back. A 2010 graduate of Texas Christian University, Colin currently resides in Fort Worth, TX during the off-season. He has a great love for the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and loves sharing this passion with others. Colin is actively involved in the communities of both Charlotte, NC and Fort Worth, TX. He has worked with organizations such as The Salvation Army of Greater Charlotte, and Gill Children’s Services of Fort Worth, among others. Colin and his wife, Briana, who married in 2012, attend Forest Hill Church in Charlotte, and Christ Chapel in Fort Worth.
